- Battery is discharged, temperature-protected, or internally failed
- Battery contacts are dirty or the pack is not fully seated on the rails
- Forward/reverse button is centered or not fully in a drive detent
- Trigger, contact block, wiring, brushes, motor, or switch has failed
- Debris or a raised edge blocks a rail or contact channel
- Battery is misaligned or is not a compatible V20 interface
- Battery shell or tool rail support is swollen, cracked, or distorted
- Release latch or contact block is damaged and out of position
- Battery is not fully seated in the charger
- Outlet or charger has no power or blocked ventilation
- Battery is outside the permitted temperature range
- Battery or charger has internally failed
- Dry contamination, wear, or damage at the battery contacts
- Battery shell or latches allow electrical movement despite physical retention
- Tool contact block or internal wiring is loose
- Trigger, direction switch, brush, or motor connection is intermittent
- Selector is not pushed fully to the intended side
- External cap moves but does not actuate the internal switch

- Chuck body is loose, damaged, or internally worn
- Spindle, bearing, gearbox output, or front housing is bent or loose
- Speed selector or shift fork is between engagements
- Gear teeth, keys, shaft, or coupling are stripped or broken
- Clutch drive has failed internally
