FixBeforeBuy

Editorial policy

This policy describes how repair information is organized on FixBeforeBuy. It is based on the current publishing workflow, not on claims we cannot verify.

Purpose of the content

Pages exist to help someone identify a device, understand a symptom or error, and reach the related repair manual. Content is structured data: categories, brands, models, symptoms, error codes, failure modes, manuals, and the links between them.

How content is published

Repair content is created and updated through our publishing process. Catalog entries are reviewed before they appear on the public site.

We do not claim that every sentence is independently verified by a named journalist, that every procedure was performed in our workshop, or that manufacturer documents are reproduced with official endorsement. Where a page includes manufacturer names, model numbers, or error codes, those are used to identify equipment, not to imply a partnership.

Quality and limitations

  • Public pages may show preview content only; paid manuals contain the fuller procedure.
  • Information can become outdated when manufacturers change parts, firmware, or service practice.
  • Translations depend on the published locale data available for each page.
  • User feedback after a purchase can be collected through a private feedback link. That is not a public comments system.

Safety

Repair can involve electricity, moving parts, heat, weight, and stored energy. Editorial content should not be read as a guarantee that a job is safe for you. Follow manufacturer warnings, disconnect power, and use protective equipment. See the disclaimer for the full safety notice.

Corrections and missing manuals

If a page is wrong, incomplete, or unsafe, tell us. Use the contact page. If the manual you need is missing, submit the request form with brand, model, and problem. We cannot promise a deadline for adding a title.
