FM-28: The Optional Dust Port Will Not Fit, Stays Loose, Clogs, Or Extracts Poorly

The optional two-piece dust port cannot seat over the upper guard, will not stay

• Back half tab is not in the casting notch or halves are misaligned
• Two mounting screws are loose, missing, wrong, or the port is cracked

1. The port seats firmly with its tab and two screws, leaves all guards/adjustments free, stays clear, and carries visible dust into a working extractor during a test cut.

1. Remove the battery, fully loosen the depth lever, and remove any hose before inspecting the port.
2. Clear chips dry and align the back half over the upper guard with its locating tab fully in the casting notch, then align the front half.
3. Install and secure the two correct mounting screws, restore the depth setting, and confirm the port does not obstruct the guard, shoe, or adjustments.
