FM-02: The Saw Starts, Then Shuts Off Abruptly Under Load
The blade reaches speed, enters the wood, and then all powered rotation stops abruptly rather than merely slowing or binding in the kerf.
Diagnostic overview
The blade reaches speed, enters the wood, and then all powered rotation stops abruptly rather than merely slowing or binding in the kerf.
Likely Root Causes
- Electronic protection responded to overload, temperature, or deep battery discharge
- Battery is weak, undercharged, too hot, too cold, or moving on the rails
- Blade, depth, feed rate, or work support is creating excessive load
- Blocked vents or an internal electronic or motor fault repeats under load
Quick Checks
- The saw completes a controlled supported cut without abrupt powered shutdown, abnormal heat, or battery movement.
Repair Preview
- Release the trigger, hold the shoe still until the blade stops and the lower guard closes, then remove the battery before freeing the saw.
- Let the tool and pack cool in a dry ventilated place, and inspect for heat damage, liquid, smoke, sparks, or a battery hazard before any retest.
- Free the blade from the kerf, correct work support and cutting depth, clean the vents dry, and replace a dull, damaged, dirty, or wrong blade.
- Install a known-good fully charged compatible pack and make one controlled light cut in supported scrap without forcing the saw.
- If the powered shutdown repeats while the blade remains free and the proven pack, blade, depth, support, and feed are correct, stop use and route the saw f
