The lower guard binds, moves slowly, rubs, stays open, or fails to cover the blade.

• Sawdust or chips obstruct the guard path
• Guard is bent, cracked, or misassembled
• Retracting lever, pivot, or spring is damaged
• Blade or clamp parts rub the guard at some angles or depths
• Guard mechanism requires qualified adjustment or replacement

1. The lower guard moves freely and closes promptly over the blade.

1. Remove the battery and move the guard only with its retracting lever.
2. Check free travel and prompt spring closing through all bevel and depth settings.
3. Brush sawdust from the guard and clamp area, and confirm no blade or washer contact.
4. - If the guard is slow, damaged, missing, or will not close, do not use the saw - seek service.
