1. A measured scrap cut matches the selected 0-degree or bevel setting and the shoe remains locked.

1. Set the desired bevel from the scale, tighten the bevel knob, set and lock depth, and use a marked line, fence, or straightedge on supported work.
2. Make and measure a scrap cut; if calibration cannot be achieved or the blade wanders with sound setup, service the shoe, spindle, or bearing.
3. Remove the battery, set the bevel to zero, and place a square between the shoe and blade body while avoiding the carbide teeth.
4. Confirm the blade, washer, and bolt are seated and secure, and inspect the shoe for bending; use the manual 90-degree alignment procedure only when needed.
