- Spindle has not reached the lock position
- Gear train is between teeth and needs slight hand rotation
- Spindle-lock or gearbox component is worn or broken
- Chuck body is loose on the spindle
Vérifications rapides
- The spindle lock holds the empty chuck for normal hand tightening and loosening, or the lock fault is proven.

- Inspect for a loose chuck body, unusual free play, or grinding while keeping the tool unpowered.
- If the spindle never locks or the chuck body is loose, route the chuck, spindle lock, gearbox, or spindle to service.
- Remove the battery and test the spindle lock only with an empty chuck.
- Turn the chuck gently through a small angle, then retry the sleeve so the internal lock can engage.
