Sanding pad has mechanical looseness at its mount

With the battery removed, the pad rocks, clunks, or has movement at the hub beyond normal orbital compliance.

• Four pad screws are loose or damaged
• Pad hub or platen is worn
• Bearing retainer or drive bearing is damaged
• Impact or incorrect reassembly

1. The pad is securely retained without clunking at the mount.

1. Remove the battery and gently rock the pad at the hub while supporting the tool.
2. Inspect all four screw seats and the pad for cracks without opening the housing.
3. If only the consumable pad is damaged, replace it by the published four-screw procedure.
4. If looseness remains at the platen or bearing, stop and use authorized service.
