FM-22: Sander housing becomes unusually hot during light use

The tool body heats rapidly during a brief light-use test while the battery remains only mildly warm.

• Cooling vents are blocked
• Pad, belt, skirt, or bearing is dragging
• Motor or fan is failing
• Electronic control has an internal fault

1. The tool remains at ordinary operating warmth during a brief light-use test.

1. Set O, remove the battery, and place the hot tool on a nonflammable surface.
2. Let it cool fully, clear vents, and verify the pad turns freely by hand.
3. With a known-good cool pack, run only a brief no-load test while watching heat and sound.
4. If the housing heats rapidly again, stop use and route the tool to authorized service.
