FM-12 BLADE BOLT OR SPINDLE LOCK WILL NOT OPERATE

• Lock is not aligned with the spindle position
• Left-hand bolt is being turned the wrong direction
• Hex recess or wrench is rounded
• Bolt, washer, or spindle threads are dirty or damaged
• Spindle lock mechanism is broken

1. The spindle lock engages only while stopped, the bolt turns in the correct direction, and the blade clamps securely.

1. Clean the bolt, washer, and accessible spindle seating dry and inspect for cross-threading, cracks, burrs, or incorrect hardware.
2. If the lock will not engage or the bolt is seized, stripped, or damaged, do not improvise leverage; have the spindle and hardware serviced.
3. Remove the battery, use the supplied hex wrench, and press the spindle lock while rotating the blade by hand until the lock fully engages.
4. Remember the left-hand thread: turn the blade bolt clockwise to loosen and counterclockwise to tighten; stop if the wrench or recess begins to round.
