FM-17: THE TWO-SPEED SELECTOR WILL NOT MOVE BETWEEN RANGES

• Gear teeth are temporarily misaligned
• Debris or housing damage blocks selector travel
• External selector cap or fork is damaged
• Internal shift fork or gearbox component is jammed

1. The selector reaches and holds both ranges with the chuck stopped, or the shift mechanism is routed to service.

1. Turn the empty chuck slightly by hand while moving the selector gently into range 1 and then range 2.
2. If it still will not reach both positions, keep the tool unpowered and route the selector fork or gearbox to service.
3. Stop the chuck completely and remove the battery before touching the speed selector.
4. Dry-clean around the selector and inspect the cap and housing for cracks, looseness, or obstruction.
