• Selector is not fully centered
• External selector or trigger interlock is worn or broken
• Housing damage misaligns the control parts

1. The centered selector reliably blocks the trigger, or the tool remains out of service for lock repair.

1. Re-center the selector from each side and confirm the trigger remains blocked without inserting a battery.
2. If the trigger can still move through the start range, keep the tool unpowered and route the lock, selector, switch, or housing to service.
3. Remove the battery, center the selector, and hand-check whether the trigger is physically blocked.
4. Dry-clean the selector and trigger edges and inspect the housing for cracks, looseness, or interference.
