FM-25: THE CHUCK OR BIT WOBBLES VISIBLY AT NO LOAD

The chuck or bit exhibits visible side-to-side wobble or runout at low no-load speeds after the bit has been properly centered and tightened.

• Bit is bent or its shank is damaged
• Bit is gripped off-center by uneven or dirty jaws
• Chuck body is loose, damaged, or internally worn
• Spindle, bearing, gearbox output, or front housing is bent or loose

1. A known-straight bit and the empty chuck rotate without visible runout, or the chuck-versus-spindle source is conclusively isolated.

Release the trigger, remove the battery, and remove the installed bit to separate bit condition from chuck condition.
