- The selected depth stays fixed through a supported test cut.

- Remove the battery, place the saw on a stable surface, and loosen the depth lever.
- Brush the slide dry and move the shoe through its full range.
- Set depth so about one-half tooth projects below the workpiece, then tighten the lever firmly.
- - Push-test and make a scrap cut - if depth moves or the lever will not lock, seek service.
