Likely Root Causes
- Speed selector or shift fork is between engagements
- Gear teeth, keys, shaft, or coupling are stripped or broken
- Clutch drive has failed internally
- Chuck is loose on the spindle or spindle connection has failed
Quick Checks
- Motor rotation produces stable chuck rotation in both selected ranges, or the internal drive loss is proven.
Repair Preview
Release the trigger, remove the battery, and stop using the drive path until the selector and chuck are checked.
