Symptoms

The lithium battery or charger shows abnormal heat, swelling, cracking, electrolyte, hissing, odor, sparks, or smoke.
Rotation and impact pulses are steady, but a normal fastener advances much more slowly than expected.
With the battery removed, the keyless chuck sleeve or jaws remain seized, or a clamped bit cannot be released by normal hand rotation.
The collar moves normally, but the clutch ratchets before a suitable fastener reaches normal depth at appropriate settings, or it audibly slips when drill mode is correctly selected.
